Plagiarism Policy
The Andalas Obstetrics and Gynecology Journal (AOJ) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. To ensure originality, every manuscript submitted to AOJ is screened for similarity using Turnitin plagiarism detection software prior to the peer-review process.
-
Maximum Similarity Threshold: The overall similarity index must not exceed 25%.
-
Immediate Rejection: Manuscripts with a similarity score of more than 25% will be automatically rejected without further review.
-
Minor Overlaps: If the similarity index is within the acceptable range but contains improper or excessive citation and paraphrasing, authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscript.
-
Exemptions: Similarity in references, methodological details, and common phrases in the field may be considered acceptable, provided they do not constitute plagiarism.
Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable
-
Copying or reproducing text, figures, or data from other works without proper citation.
-
Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication of an author’s previously published work.
-
Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment.
Ethical Commitment
By submitting to AOJ, authors affirm that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism. The editorial team, in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, will take appropriate action if plagiarism is detected, including rejection, retraction, or notification to the author’s institution.
